FOR a young bloke, Danny Younis has plenty of experience when it comes to burnouts and powerskids. His Ford Capri has been on the scene for around eight years now, and for the past four years it’s been a serious top-level blown and injected beast. Up front is a methanol-injected small-block Chev, topped off with a Weiand 8/71 blower.
Danny was part of the mainland contingent that made it across to Powercruise 70 at Symmons Plains Raceway in Tasmania, and along with Andrew ‘Lynchy’ Lynch, Danny was one of the big hitters, absolutely sending it on track. On more than a few occasions he drifted the Capri through the last corner at full tilt and got some serious angle.
While the burnout pad was a bit too restrictive for his liking, Danny gave the powerskids a good crack, even choosing to start a little further back so he could incorporate a corner into his skid!
Having done a few Powercruise events before, Danny knows his car well and reckons he’ll be back for Powercruise Tasmania again next year.
